“Blooming Onion” is a digital illustration of my pet snake named Onion. After introducing a new dirt box to her enclosure, I found her at the front of the box submerged with only her head poking out. Seeing her enjoy the new texture of the dirt inspired me to capture her in a fun illustration. Since many people have a misconception around snakes and find them scary, I thought showing her in her time of exploration could change peoples view on snakes.
